                                                                             types  of  plate  tectonics  move-
                                                                             ments  on  which  an  earthquake
                                                                             can occur are discussed below:

                                                                             Strike-Slip Faults.  A  strike-slip
                                                                             (or  transform)  fault  results  when
                                                                             two  plates  move  sideways  and
                                                                             past  each  other.  Examples  of
                                                                             earthquakes caused by strike-slip
